That comment would have been slightly flattering to me (as transwoman). Often the wish to "pass" is on the mind of many trans* and if this utterance would have happend without mallice it kinda would be nice.

I dont think its necessarily a Cishet thing and more a Problem of society. Plenty of non het and noncis people share these bad ideas and preconceptions that should belong to the 18th century.
